I have been fascinated by music since an early age. In fact, I have been DJing since I was a 9-year-old. My father’s pals would gather round for Sunday or Saturday evening drinks which would be my opportunity to see if I could get anyone in the room to be nodding their head or tapping their foot or hand.

Since then, my love of all musical things soulful, jazzy, and funky continues-

Based in Marbella on Spain’s Costa del Sol for the last 16 years, l have managed to become an in-demand DJ for hire. Nicknamed “The Legend” by many and “The Encyclopaedia” by others my live DJ gigs continue to keep me out and about amongst the people. From London in the UK to Los Angeles in the USA with Switzerland & Germany thrown in between in that mix. Private Parties, Corporate Events, Club Nights, Weddings, and Anniversary Celebrations keep me busy from Cadiz, Gibraltar to Malaga along Spain’s southern coast.

On his return to DJing after a 6-year hiatus back in the 90s, during my first gig returning behind the decks, I was experiencing a very shaky set fraught with uncertainty and nerves. My fellow DJ colleague, John ‘JSt*r’ Ayers whispered… “Have faith in your tunes”. It was a comment which not only helped me to relax but enabled me to deliver a sterling set. It became the catalyst that has enhanced my purpose of sharing the soundtrack of my life with everyone that I encounter.  Since my metamorphism from Jazzy Larry in the 70s into LARRY JAZZZ for the 80s and beyond, there have been no further name changes. However, my repertoire now encompasses an eclectic mix from Disco to Bass Trap, Big Tunes from the last six decades that will make you wanna ¨get down” on that dancefloor!

I would describe the music that moves me currently is anything soulful!

“I’m still loving anything that has quality input. Old Skool Rare Grooves to the latest Pop Hits. Soaring vocals and fat basslines all get my attention and a big thumbs up… as long as it prescribes to any of the above menus”.

“If the bass ain’t kicking and the vocals ain’t soaring… Forget about it!”

The new technology certainly aids the imagination of the current day producers as more and more musical boundaries are established and then smashed down giving way for the next novel musical nuance.
